DEVIN WRIGHT hails from the Eugene area and after 10+ years as a professional musician has become a youthful and innovative composer and saxophonist. He attended Lane Community College, Kansas University, and currently studies jazz composition at the University of Oregon under the tutelage of Steve Owen. His works have been performed and recorded by the Oregon Jazz Ensemble, Eugene Composers Big Band, the Brian Scarborough Quintet, and the newest sextet entitled "Six Cents"-- all groups in which Devin performs as a Tenor, Alto, Soprano, and Baritone saxophonist, and feature some of todays leading young performers and composers.
In 2013 Devin was named Downbeat Magazine's “Outstanding Performer in Original Composition”, and Reno Jazz Festival's “Outstanding College Saxophonist”. He appears as a sideman and contributing composer on the Brian Scarborough Quintet debut album entitled “Second Storm”.
Devin also teaches private lessons and ensembles, and has given clinics at schools throughout Oregon and Washington. He is an active advocate for the arts in public schools and has performed as a guest artist for the Rhythm and Blues Revue-- a benefit concert series mixing professionals and students to raise funds for school trips to music festivals and other activities

Oregon Connection: Devin is a functioning member of many jazz groups in Oregon and maintains a private studio of students in saxophone, piano, and guitar. He also teaches ensembles and instructs students part time in the 4J school district. Devin lends his arranging work to high school level jazz ensembles in addition to his professional level work, and can write for any level of ensemble
